Carlibar kids draw on national treasures

BUDDING artists from Carlibar Primary painted the school red (and yellow, and pink and blue) last week as the Tesco Bank Art Competition arrived in Barrhead.

The school’s P5-6s took part in sessions led by the National Galleries of Scotland education team, creating clay pieces based on Benjamin West’s Death of a Stag, from the national collection.

Councillor Paul O’Kane, East Renfrewshire education and equalities convener, said: “This is a fantastic programme for our pupils to get involved in.
